RANDY is a broadcast engineer. Currently he is Director of RF
engineering for a corporation which owns five TV stations and two radio stations in Palm Desert, California. He will finish his Bachelor's in Technology from Andrews University very soon. His experience also
includes many years as a broadcast engineer at KPNX TV Channel 12 in Phoenix, Arizona. Channel 12 is an NBC affiliate owned by Gannett
Corporation. His main responsibilities included transmitter and RF systems maintenance, special projects . . . and a whole lot of other stuff.
He's been in broadcast TV for over 25 years. Randy received extensive training and experience in the US Air Force in electrical systems during the Vietnam conflict.
Randy has a brother, Darel, who lives with us. It was Darel, and his
friend, Denise (now deceased), who introduced Randy to Rachel online through the Adventists Online Forum on CompuServe. Randy and Darel, sons of a missionary family, grew up in Alaska where they both
learned to fly an airplane. Unfortunately, Darel and his father had a plane accident in 1967. Darel recovered better than expected and is indeed a special part of Randy's life.
Randy's hobbies and interests include flying, of course, R/C airplane modeling, and motor
cycles. In 2003 Randy completed the Airframe and Power Plant course from Chandler Gilbert Community College and received
his license from the FAA. He hopes to build his first plane from a kit very soon.
